I will be co-editing with my friend & colleague, Cheryl Lu-Lien Tan, the George R.R. Martin Chair of Storytelling at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern, the newest edition of Akashic Book’s Noir Series. Cheryl edited Singapore Noir, in 2014. Key West Noir will be #122 in this series which features stories from all over the globe including Boston Noir, edited by Dennis Lehane, Haiti Noir, edited by Edwidge Danticat, DC Noir, edited by George Pelecanos, and four Noir books edited by Joyce Carol Oates.
The hallmark of the series is that each story is set in a different location in Key West. It’s particularly intriguing to us to assemble this collection of stories that will illuminate the Key West demimonde, a place known for sunshine, clear skies and island tropical breezes. Over the years there have been 1,500 writers who have contributed to the series. Key West Noir will feature stories by 14 writers (including a story by Cheryl and one by me).
Anticipated publication: March, 2027. More to come as we finish signing authors.
